David B. Evans - Executive Chairman

David Barry Evans, aged 59, joined the Company on 1st October 2007, as Executive Chairman. David brings with him over 30 years of experience across the natural resources sector, with particular expertise in the development of precious and base metal projects for both large mining houses and emerging producers. David is currently a Director for AIM-listed Tianshan Goldfields Ltd., and was previously a Director of Kroondal Platinum Ltd. and Aquarius Platinum Ltd., where he played an integral part in their growth, financing and successful development. David is also a Director of Orlando Investments Plc. Within the last five years, David has held directorships or partnerships at Exterra Consulting cc, Tarapaca Resources Ltd. (Bermuda).

 
Luis Guilherme Cabrita da Silva - President & CEO

Luis, 37, took over the role of President & Chief Executive in October 2007 having joined Mano River in February of the same year as Chief Financial Officer. He gained his extensive international experience with the multinationals Lafarge S.A. and Blue Circle Industries Plc as well as Stevin Rock, formerly of the Dragomar Group. His career has taken him across the world in an operational, technical and corporate capacity. Most recently as a Director of Group Audit, Luis was heading Lafarge's Asia Pacific internal audit department based in Malaysia having previously been posted to Paris, France, with the same company.
Luis is a graduate Mining Engineer from Camborne School of Mines and read for his MBA at the Cranfield School of Management. He is currently an Executive Director of Stellar Diamonds Ltd and a Director of AiRENA Ltd.

 
Bevan John Metcalf -- Chief Financial Officer

Bevan, 50, is a Chartered Accountant with 27 years global experience in the pharmaceutical and mining industries. He graduated with a Bachelor of Management Studies degree from Waikato University in New Zealand. Bevan began his career as a Management Accountant with ICI, where he spent two years before emigrating to the United Kingdom.

Bevan joined Beecham Pharmaceuticals in the UK as a Regional Accountant, and remained with the company for 11 years, holding a number of senior finance positions. Following the Beecham Pharmaceuticals merger with SmithKline, he was transferred to Belgium where he successfully established the European Head Office. He remained with the merged company for 5 years, first as European Planning Manager and then as European Controller. Bevan returned to the UK in 1995 and was appointed Finance Director for Orion Pharmaceuticals, a mid-size European pharmaceutical company. Bevan then joined African Eagle Resources plc, a mineral exploration company focused on eastern and central Africa, listed on AIM and the Alternative Exchange of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, where he currently holds the position of Finance Director and Company Secretary. Bevan was granted ACA membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand in 1986. He is also a director of BM Financial Solutions Ltd and The FD Group Ltd.

 
N. Karl Smithson - CEO Stellar Diamonds Limited

Karl, 42, was appointed as Stellar's chief executive officer on 1st January 2007, having been chief operating officer for diamonds for Mano River Resources for three years. He is a geology graduate of Kingston University and in 2006 completed his MBA at the Graduate School of Business in Cape Town, South Africa, and was awarded with the Old Mutual Gold Medal.

Karl has 19 years of diamond experience gained with a number of companies in senior management positions, including De Beers (10 years), SouthernEra Diamonds (2 years) and Mano River Resources Inc. (3 years). He also ran his own diamond exploration consultancy for three years. Karl's working career has been focussed on diamond exploration in Africa and he has been responsible for a number of new diamond discoveries in Botswana, Zimbabwe, Sierra Leone and Liberia. The discovery in Botswana is due to enter commercial production in the near future as the Lerala Diamond Mine.

 
Jenkins Dorbor - Consultant Geologist

Jenkins, Consultant Geologist to Mano in Liberia, has over 25 years experience as a geologist and geo-chemist gained in the government, academic and private sectors. He holds a post-graduate Diploma in Applied Geochemistry from the US Geological Survey and a M.Phil. from Imperial College in London. Jenkins was appointed Acting Director of the Liberian Geological Survey in 1985, Director of Mines for Liberia in 1998 and is also a Lecturer at the University of Liberia. He was Project Geologist with Western Mining for their exploration programme in Liberia in 1989.

 
Dr Richard Latiff - Chief Geologist

Richard graduated in Freetown in 1981 and obtained his PhD. from Southampton University in 1993. Following a number of years with the Sierra Leone Geological Survey, he was appointed a lecturer in structural geology at Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone. Before joining Mano River he gained experience on a wide variety of mineral development projects in Sierra Leone.

 
A. Kassim Mansaray - Senior Geologist

Kassim completed an MSc. at the Moscow Geological Research Institute in 1980 and joined the Sierra Leone Geological Survey. In 1990, he completed a second MSc. in Mining Geo-statistics at the University of Leeds. In 1988, he was Project Geologist for an EEC funded project to investigate gold lode mineralisation in the Nimini hills. In 1995-96 he was responsible, on behalf of the Sierra Leone Government, for supervision of De Beer's offshore diamond exploration programme.

 
Stephen Dorbor - Project Geologist

Stephen graduated in 1989 and worked for MINAFCO, an alluvial gold mining operator, from 1992-4. Following his return from the Ivory Coast after the war, he worked for the Ministry of Mines and joined the Mano team in 1997.

 
Rexford Sartuh - Project Geologist

Rexford graduated in 1988 and worked with the Ministry of Mines until he joined Mano in 1997. He is also a lecturer in Physical Geology at the University of Liberia.

 
Shiaman M. Diawara - Manager of the Conakry office

Shiaman is responsible for facilitating Mano's activities in Guinea. Following completion of his degree in 1965 he became an Inspector of Education in the Ivory Coast, returning to Guinea as a Project Co-ordinator in the development office at Boké working with the Compagnie des Bauxite de Guinée. Between 1972 and 1992 he was Administrative Director for a number of Government departments and parastatal organisations. In 1992, he became Guinean representative of Kafco S.A., a Kpoto Group Company, an appointment that led to his involvement with Mano since 1994.

 
Manden S. Traore - Mining Engineer

Manden, Mining Engineer and an important member of the team in Guinea since 1994, qualified as a mining engineer with a 'certificat d'aptitudes professionelle'. He has worked for the Direction Régionale des Mines et Géologie at Gueckedou, the Service National d'Exploitation des Diamants at Banankoro, the Inspection Régionale des Mines et Géologie at Faranah and the Direction préfectorale des Mines at Siguiri, Kouroussa and at the present day, at Kankan. His responsibilities have included all aspects of the control of the artisanal mining sector.

 
Abdoulaye Diallo - Geologist

Abdoulaye qualified in 1992 from the Institut Supérieur des Mines et de la Géologie de Boké and undertook work experience and training in surveying, geo-physical techniques and geological mapping with a variety of companies. Following a few months with the bauxite mine at Sangaredi, he joined B.I.T in 1996 to construct low cost rural roads. He joined Mano in 1996.
